This season we are delighting in the allure of warm neutrals and vintage charm. We had the chance to speak with Sharland England’s founder, Louise Roe, who generously shared her insights on how to layer the perfect tablescape. As we welcome the season, there is no better time to embrace the vivacious energy that this enchanting time of year brings. In this article, Louise share her insights and masterfully combines warm neutrals, captivating textures, and endearing vintage elements to create a perfectly layered tablescape. From selecting the ideal tablecloth to incorporating Granny's cherished serving dishes, you can create a memorable dining experience for your next soirée!

1. Begin with the Perfect Tablecloth

Elevate your dining experience by choosing the right tablecloth, Louise Roe says, "Start with a beautiful tablecloth, and the rest will fall into place. For Spring, I love our Napa design in cognac, because the colors are a warm neutral and basically go with everything."

2. The Art of Layering

This next tip may appear straightforward, yet it creates a huge impact. "I always layer a soup or side plate over the dinner plates. It creates a beautiful texture and pattern to the table - I often mix different collections too, they don't have to match, as long as the color story works." Embrace the art of layering and mixing collections to achieve a truly stunning table setting that leaves a lasting impression.

3. Don't Forget Florals

"I keep flowers low - little jars or our Bambino vase is perfect: then people can see each other when they talk! And depending on the celebration, I like to scatter decorations on the table - it could be lemons, old fashion candy, Easter eggs - that's something the children love to help with too."

4. Something Old

"And lastly, I always have something old on the table" says Louise. "I truly believe entertaining shouldn't be too strict or measured - have fun with it!" Incorporating cherished heirlooms adds character and warmth to your tablescape. "So bringing in some of granny's old chipped, charming serving dishes is a lovely touch."
